Sydney in Wonderland
My largest and most popular theory. Actually it started as a theory for what was to come season three and ended up being just some interesting connections without a meaning so far. I started to create it directly after the season two finale and since about three episodes into season three it has been all over the web. I still beleive that I saw it first. My second love is the works of Lewis Carrol, so it couldn't be more perfect. If you are new to this theory here you go...
There are countless hidden references throughout Alias that can be linked back to Alice and Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There.
- Sydney dressed as Alice for Halloween in season one(look at image above)
- Vaughn's old girlfriend's name is Alice
- Allison Doran is the woman who was made into a clone of Francie.
- During season one Syd had the short-lived callsign White Rabbit
- At the end of season two during Syd's big fight with Allison she was knocked out by a mirrior.
- A black cat runs across the screen when Sydney wakes up in Hong Kong. (Many cats, including a black one, played a major role in Through the Looking glass. The black one played the red queen in Alice's dream)
- After waking up in Hong Kong she calls Kendell using the password "Looking Glass"
- In season three Weiss gives Syd a third edition Alice and Wonderland to replace the one her mother had given to her.
- Sometime in the first season (can't remember the episode) a white rabbit figurine can be seen on Syd's shelf.
Mere coincidence? I think not.
Sloane's Peace
In the last couple of episodes of season three we learn that Rambaldi artifact #43 has the inscription "Irina". In some dialects Irina means peace. Sloane said when he assembled all 47 artifacts to create The Telling a single word was the result; peace. Therefore Irina could still be working with Sloane or countless other possibilities. Just a thought.
Rambaldi, Sloane, Sydney, and that Green Stuff
Sloane has claimed that he had an affair with Irina and may be Syd's biological father. Because of this "secret" the viewer was made to believe Sloane was close to commiting suicide by lethal injection(the green stuff) when in fact Sloane could have somehow been some how altering his DNA so a test would show he was Syd's father and he could gain leverage. This could be some kind of Rambaldi technology. Sounds farfetched? This is Alias!
